Welcome to the Speedhound Bikes Blog

Thanks for visiting our blog.  We look forward to sharing the latest Speedhound news, bike build suggestions  and inspiring cycling ideas.

Why Speedhound?
CooperOur name is a tribute to our rescued Italian Greyhound, Cooper.  Cooper came into our lives as a 10-month old puppy in December  2005, after being stepped on on Christmas day and then abandoned at the emergency vet, when it became apparent that his leg was broken.  Fortunately (for Cooper and us), the vet tech took him home; we took him in; and Lifeline Italian Greyhound Rescue paid to have his leg repaired.  We like to think that Cooper has transcended the experience quite nicely.  He is loyal, comical, affectionate and a great companion.  And like his fellow IGs, he is elegant, fast, agile and athletic – a perfect mascot for Speedhound.

Spend some time getting to know the Speedhound ONLY ONE frameset and the unique Speedhound Dropout System on our website.  Stop by one of our partner retailers for a test ride.  They’ll be thrilled to help you build your dream ride.
